Job Description

About the Role

This is a Part-Time role, working Term Time only. The successful candidate will work 38 hours per fortnight, initial contract until November 2026.

Role Responsibilities

  • Provide first aid and emergency care to all students, members of staff and visitors to Brisbane Grammar School.
  • Receive, treat and refer students/staff/ visitors with regard to physical injury or illness.
  • Attend to the primary health needs of boarders.
  • Oversee and monitor students who are confined to the Health Centre.
  • Referral to and liaison with medical and allied health professionals to optimise health of students.
  • Provide advocacy on behalf of boarders requiring Emergency Room review.
  • Participation in health promotion activities.
  • Co-ordinate the management of first aid supplies in the organisation.
  • Work closely with other members of the Health Centre team to ensure seamless and continuous care through verbal handovers, written reports, diary entries and patient records.
  • Liaise with parents, medical professionals, school and residential staff to develop management plans for students with high- risk conditions.

  • Act at all times in accordance with the BGS Code of Conduct.
  • Act in accordance with BGS policies and procedures.
  • Comply with the BGS Workplace Health and Safety system and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain friendly and productive working relationships with colleague, students, parents and visitors.
  • Promote positive team attitude.
  • Positively liaise with other staff to facilitate a community environment, and support wider school goals.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to serving the School community.
