Position Description
The Traffic Controller at Brisbane Grammar School plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of vehicles and pedestrians within the school grounds. This position is vital for maintaining a secure environment for students, staff, and visitors during peak traffic times.
The key responsibilities of the Traffic Controller include:
Monitoring traffic flow in and around the school premises to minimise congestion and ensure safety.
Directing vehicles entering and exiting the school grounds, providing clear instructions to drivers.
Ensuring pedestrian safety by controlling crossings and guiding students while they are on foot.
Communicating effectively with school staff, parents, and visitors regarding traffic regulations and safety procedures.
Responding promptly to any incidents or emergencies that may arise during traffic management operations.
Maintaining a visible presence during busy drop-off and pick-up times to deter unsafe driving behaviours.
Conducting regular inspections of traffic management signage, barriers, and equipment to ensure they are in good working order.
The Traffic Controller must demonstrate excellent communication skills, quick decision-making abilities, and a strong commitment to promoting safety within the school environment. This role requires an individual who can work collaboratively with others while remaining vigilant in their duties.

Experience using communication devices for coordination purposes (e.g., radios)
A valid traffic controller licence or certification is highly desirable
