Job Description

About the role

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Laundry Assistant and Cleaner to join our school’s services team on a casual basis to cover a period of leave. In this role, you will be responsible for the washing, drying, folding, and distribution of school uniforms, linen, and other textiles. You’ll help maintain high hygiene standards and ensure timely turnaround of laundry items to support the smooth operation of school activities.

This position offers a supportive work environment, consistent hours, and the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the wellbeing of students and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate laundry equipment safely and efficiently
  • Sort, clean, and care for various fabrics
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the laundry area
  • Collaborate with staff to meet daily laundry needs

Other responsibilities as a Cleaner include:

  • The School’s campuses are maintained at a professionally clean standard at all reasonable times.
  • Completion of daily, weekly and monthly cleaning as per schedules and as required
  • Cleaning processes are performed in a timely and efficient manner
  • Identify any hazards created by cleaning activities (including chemical, slip, trip etc.) to prevent any health or safety incident

Desired Skills and Experience

Essential Requirements

  • Monday - Friday availability, 40 hours per week, working 6:00am to 2:30pm daily.
  • Applicants must have the right to work in Australia.
  • Applicants must hold or be eligible to hold a positive Working with Children check (Blue Card).
